ATLANTA – There was no miracle needed at the end. No deep, desperation pass or a still-hard-to-believe missed field goal returned for a touchdown. Auburn, which reached the Southeastern Conference championship game with answered prayers, used an offense out of the 1930s and a defense that could become the hallmark of the new SEC. And now the Tigers are champions, outlasting a talented and plucky Missouri team, 59-42, Saturday at the Georgia Dome.
